Assistant Principal, Jessica Ehlinger

Hello Rams!

It is a distinct honor and privilege to introduce myself as your new Assistant Principal! I am incredibly excited to serve the Lake Asbury Elementary community this school year and look forward to getting to know you all as we jump into a year sure to be filled with learning, growth, friendship, adventures, and discoveries!

My journey as an educator has been unique as I started working with kindergarteners and first graders 18 years ago after graduating from Indiana University with a degree in Journalism. As an alternatively certified teacher, I had to work that much harder to develop the skills necessary to support my students since my degree did not prepare me for the career for which I was destined. The work ethic and passion forged in those early years stayed with me and in 2017 I was selected to represent Clay County as the District Teacher of the Year which provided me with opportunities to view teaching and learning through a wider lens.

Former Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart challenged me to impact student learning beyond the walls of my own classroom which inspired me to set off on this path into leadership. It is my hope that I can continue to learn and grow as a new school leader while supporting and positively impacting each student, family, faculty, and staff member here at Lake Asbury Elementary. I’m thrilled to be a Ram!

Work hard. Be kind!
